A 13-year-old boy has become one of the youngest persons in British criminal history to be charged with murder, media reports said today.

Martin Thomas, 39, was found at his home in Roehampton in south-west London on April 22. He died from a stab wound that punctured his lung.

The teenager, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was arrested last night.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Wimbledon Magistrates' Court tomorrow, the BBC reported.

A 15-year-old boy, who must also remain anonymous, has also been charged with murder and appeared in court last week.

He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on August 4 for a plea and case management hearing.

Two other teenagers, aged 16 and 17, were arrested in connection with the investigation and released on bail pending further enquiries.
