The parents of the girls approached the police on September 19 when they were reported missing and a case of abduction was registered at Vasant Vihar police station, the official said.
The relatives and neighbours were questioned and it turned out that they were last seen with their brother-in-law. The accused left his wife behind and did not inform her about his whereabouts, he said.
The accused was tracked down by a police team in connection with the abduction case. He, however, did not make any ransom call by then. The younger sister complained that she was raped in the guest house, said the official.
Relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act were added in the existing FIR and the accused was arrested yesterday, he said.
He was produced before a court today which sent him to judicial custody and the victim's statement was recorded under Section 164 CrPc, the official added.
