13-year-old, relative shot at by dacoits in UP

Two persons, including a teenager, were shot at by dacoits after they raised an alarm about a theft at their neighbour's house in Jirsimi village, police said today.

About a dozen dacoits struck at the house of one Rakesh Singh after midnight and looted cash and valuables worth lakhs after holding the inmates hostage, police said.

The culprits later jumped into the neighbour, Chandrapal's house and fired at a 13 year-old girl who raised an alarm and her 60-year-old uncle who rushed to her help, police said adding that the thieves managed to escape from the scene.

The injured have been rushed to Agra in a serious condition, police said.
 

The ASP Visarjan Singh said that teams have been constituted to work out the case soon.
