A total of 134 recruits attained the status of 'Combat Soldiers' after an impressive passing out and attestation parade, presented by the young Guardsmen - the newest additions to the armed forces - at their Regimental Centre.
Keeping with the age-old traditions, they were administered the oath of allegiance and devotion to duty.
Brigadier J S Menon, Commandant, Guards Regimental Centre here, reviewed the parade.
Medals were presented to outstanding Guardsmen in various disciplines of training. The coveted Overall Best Recruit Trophy was awarded to Marpumamnda Rao, an official release said.
