The prize money for the winners of the third edition has been doubled to Rs 2 crore, while the runners-up will fetch a sum of Rs 1 crore, a press release stated today.
The team standing third will get Rs 51 lakhs.
The 15-day long tournament will witness Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Sri Lanka, Australia, Italy, USA, Canada, Denmark, Norway, Scotland, Kenya and Argentina, apart from hosts India contesting in the men's section, it added.
In the women's segment, the competition would be between India, Kenya, Malaysia, USA, UK and Turkmenistan.
The opening ceremony of the championship would be held at Bathinda while the closing ceremony would take place at Ludhiana.
