14 drug peddlers booked in Punjab

Police today booked 14 alleged drug peddlers, nine of them women, after a raid at Daulewala village in the district.

Police raided their house and hideouts following a tip-off that they were involved in smuggling of heroin.

All the accused were absconding, police said, adding that most them are already facing the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act.

Those booked include Kala Singh, Shabir Kaur, Gurdeep Kaur, Purna Singh, Mohinder Kaur, Preet Kaur, Preeto, Kala Singh who is son of Balvir Singh, Mangal Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, and Amar Kaur Gali wife of Tirlok Singh, they said.
