14 killed, 22 injured in two separate accidents in China

At least 14 people have been killed and 22 others injured in two separate accidents in China, the state media reported today.

At least seven persons were killed and 14 others injured when a bus they were travelling in overturned in China's eastern Shandong Province.

The passengers were employees of the Mengshan Tourism Administration in Linyi City. They were on a routine patrol checking for risks of forest fire when the accident happened yesterday.

Three people were killed on the spot and another four who were severely wounded died in hospital, Xinhua news agency reported.

In a separate incident, seven persons were killed and eight wounded after scaffolding collapsed at a construction site of a school in China's southwest Yunnan province.
 

Rescuers have pulled out 15 people, with seven already dead in the accident which occurred yesterday at an under construction student centre in Wenshan city, a separate Xinhua report said.

Over 100 rescuers including firefighters, police officers and medical staff are searching for the others trapped.
