14 people including four policemen injured in clash

Fourteen people, including four policemen, were injured when two groups clashed over a piece of land in Malda district today, police said.

Two groups clashed over forcible occupation of a piece of a land at Enayatpur-Nuwada area of the district. Ten persons were injured in the incident in which both groups used firearms, bombs and sharp edged weapons, the police said.

When a police team reached the spot, it was also attacked and four policemen sustained injuries, they said.

Senior police officers including the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abshishek Modi rushed to the spot with a huge police force and brought the situation under control.
 

The injured have been admitted to Malda Medical College Hospital, they added.
