Odisha continued to reel under cold conditions with 14 places in the state recording temperature below 10 degree Celsius on Thursday.
Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in the state for next few days under the influence of dry and cold wind blowing from northern Himalayan range, the Meteorological Centre here said.
Phulbani remained the coldest place in the state recording 6.8 degree Celsius, up from 4.5 degree measured on Wednesday. The mercury stood at 8 degree Celsius in the tourist destination of Daringibadi, also in Kandhamal district, as against 5 degree recorded on Wednesday, it said.
As the entire state continued to reel under cold conditions, the mercury slipped below 10 degrees Celsius in at least 14 locations in the state, it said.
The mercury stood at 7.6 degrees Celsius in Angul, while it was 8.4 degree in Sonepur, 8.6 degree in Koraput, 9 degree in Titlagarh, Bhawanipatna and Sundargarh, 9.1 degree in Keonjhar, 9.5 degree in Sambalpur, 9.8 degree in Jharsuguda and 10 degree in Balasore and Balangir, it said.
The minimum temperature recorded in state capital Bhubaneswar was 11.2 degree Celsius, up from 9.8 degrees Celsius recorded, while the minimum temperature in neighbouring Cuttack city was 10.6 degrees Celsius, it said.
The night temperature is likely to remain below normal in most parts of the state during the next few days.
