Thirteen people were today arrested for their alleged involvement in illegal mining in this district and 14 trucks laden with sand were seized.
The trucks laden with sand were coming from Kanwanka Pattan river bridge on the Shahkot-Jalandhar road at Dharamkot in this district when police stopped them for checking and nabbed 13 persons, police said.
The accused had been arrested under the Mining and Mineral Regulation Act, police said.
