14 widows of farmers who committed suicide to get aid

14 widows of farmers who committed suicide in the district will be given an aid of Rs 1 lakh by the Maharashtra government.

The decision was taken today during a meeting chaired by District Collector Sachindra Pratap Singh.

14 cases of giving aid to farmers widows have been cleared in the meeting and Rs 1 lakh will be given to beneficiaries as per government norms, an official release said.

Meanwhile, the talathis and mandal officers (government officers) have been asked to visit families of those farmers who committed suicide in the district.

During their visit, the revenue officers will gather information about family back ground, financial status, loan liabilities, ancillary business, cattle heads among others, it added.
