140 km-long Rowghat-Jagdalpur rail route notified

The central government has issued a notification for the 140 km-long Rowghat-Jagdalpur rail route being laid under the ambitious 235 km-long Dallirajhara- Rowghat-Jagdalpur railway line project in Chhattisgarh.

"The Railway Ministry has issued notification for the Rowghat-Jagdalpur rail route which will be laid in the second phase of Dallirajhara-Rowghat-Jagdalpur railway line project," a public relation official said here today.

The Centre had already given nod for the project, he added.

Upon completion of the project, Narayanpur and Kondagaon districtsof Bastar region will be directly connected through Raipur, Bilaspur Durg and other parts of the country via rail network, he said.
 

Besides, the proposed 63 km-long Dharamjaigarh-Korba rail route to come up in the northern part of the state has also been notified, he added.

The 235 km-long Dallirajhara-Rowghat-Jagdalpur railway line will be constructed in two phases.

Work on the first phase of 95 km long track from Dallirajhara to Rowghat is in progress and 17 km rail track has been laid upto Gudum village.

The operation of the passenger train has also been started upto Gudum on this track three months ago, he added.
