140 women constables pass out from Sher-i-Kashmir Police

As many as 140 women constables participated in the passing out parade at the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir today.

Addressing the gathering, Director General of Police S P Vaid said it was very heartening to know that 140 lady constables were joining the force which will help in strengthening the existing police stations in the Valley, especially the women cells.

Complementing the staff of the academy, the top official said, "Since 60 per cent of the batch is below the age of 25 years and 36 pass outs are having educational qualification of graduation and above, these lady constables will prove helpful in enhancing the working efficiency of women police stations in the state".
 

The DGP said many measures were in pipeline for the benefit of state police personnel.

He also gave away prizes to the outstanding trainees of the batch.
