Sivasubramanian, a representative of an anti-nuclear forum People's Movement Against Nuclear Energy claimed today that the people had surrendered their EPICs to PMANE members.

These cards would be handed over to the Tahsildhar, said Sivasubramanian, whose forum has been spearheading the stir against the KNPP.

He said 160 activists are on an indefinite fast since May 1 and some 35 have been admitted to hospital after they fainted.

Police are maintaining a tight vigil in the area.

The PMANE had resumed their indefinite fast against commissioning of the plant on May one, listing six major demands, including setting up of a national panel of experts to study the region around KNPP.
