A gang running a fake education board was today busted by the Uttar Pradesh Police and 15 people were arrested for allegedly duping lakhs of students in 22 states.
On the basis of a tip-off, six persons each were arrested from Kasganj and Ghaziabad and three from Sambhal, sources in UP Police's Special Task Force said, adding that over 2,500 fake marksheets were also recovered from them.
The gang was running a fake board in the name of 'Madhyamik Siksha Parishad Madhya Pradesh Gwalior' and has duped lakhs of students by distributing fake marksheets and certificates, they said.
While the board's office was in Gwalior, it was being run from Kasganj, sources said.
