As many as 15 people have died in rain-related incidents since Wednesday night, taking the toll in different parts of Uttar Pradesh since September 1 to 73, officials said on Thursday.
According to the administration, four people died in Faizabad, two each in Unnao, Gonda, Rampur, and Auraiya, Hardoi, Meerut, Etah, and Ghazipur reported one death each.
In addition, nine people lost their lives on Wednesday, officials said.
Forecasting heavy rain at isolated places and light to moderate thundershowers at many places in the next couple of days, the Met office said south-west monsoon was active in the state.
The Central Water Commission said all the major rivers were flowing in spate.
The Ganga, Ram Ganga, Sharda, Ghaghra and Quano were flowing close to dangerous levels at different places, they added.
