15 gamblers arrested from south west Delhi

Police have busted an organised gang of gamblers and arrested its 15 members from south west Delhi's West Sagarpur area.

Cash of around 10 lakh have also been seized from their possession, a senior police official said.

"Following a tip-off that a gambling house is being run at Shiv Puri, Gali No-9 in West Sagarpur by kingpin of the gang, Vinod Gujjar, and his associates, a raid was conducted by team of Special Staff and the accused were arrested," police said.

During the interrogation, it was revealed Gujjar was arrested in few cases under Arms Act. Later on he started gathering youths for playing gambling and organized a syndicate with his co-associates.
 

"He was influenced with several Hindi films depicting gambler as a hero and his own house to host the gamblers. He had a vision to become the greatest gambler of Delhi/NCR," said the official.
