Fifteen home guards were injured, six of them seriously, when a bus in which they were travelling for poll duty hit a truck stationed at Bin Toli village in East Champaran district today.

The accident took place when the bus, carrying 28 home guards, was going to Bettiah from Ara for poll duty, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nurul Haque said.

The driver might have lost control over the vehicle leading to the accident, he said.

While the six seriously injured home guards were admitted to the Motihari Sadar hospital, nine others were being treated at the Sangrampur primary health centre, the SDPO said.
