At least 15 persons were injured and 50 'kuchha' houses damaged in a localised storm at Kulagachhi Dakshin village in Nadia district last night, a top district official said today.
The official said 15 persons were injured in the localised storm which lashed the area during heavy rains triggered by a low pressure area formed over south Bengal last night.
Of the 15 injured, four had to be taken to Shaktinagar District Hospital, he added.
The storm damaged 50 'kuchha' houses rendering as many families homeless.
The administration today dispattched relief materials like dry food, tarpaulin to the affected village.
The storm also caused death of cattle and disruption of power service in the area as work was on war footing to restore normalcy.
