At least 15 militants were killed and 25 others injured during a military raid today in the Egypt's restive North Sinai province, a security source said.
The Egyptian army also arrested 20 members of the Sinai- based militant group Ansar Biet el-Maqdes during the raid.
The raid targeted areas of the militant group which had claimed responsibility of launching attacks and killing many policemen and soldiers in the last months.

Five shelters and six vehicles used by terrorists in their attacks were also destroyed.
North Sinai has witnessed many violent attacks by Islamist militants since the January 2011 revolution that toppled ex-president Hosni Mubarak.
Islamists militant attacks targeting police and military increased after the ouster of Islamist ex-president Mohamed Morsi last year.
Many policemen and soldiers, have been killed in the attacks, which including bombings and shootings.
The military has launched security campaigns in the area, arrested suspects and demolished houses that belong to terrorists, including those facilitating tunnels leading to the Gaza Strip.
