15 persons arrested during 'Operation Viswas'in Patna district

As part of 'Operation Viswas', a drive against liquor trade, 15 persons, including a woman, have been arrested and over 281 litre illicit liquor seized from places under several police station areas of Patna district since yesterday.

As part of the drive against liquor trade, the police arrested three persons and seized 50 litre country-made liqour from their possession at a place under Maner police station area, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manu Maharaj said.

The cops rocovered 90 litre liquor made of Mahua flower under Rupaspur police station area of the district and arrested seven persons in this connection, he said, adding that a woman was arrested with 30 litre country-made liquor under Phulwarisharif police station area.
 

In Paliganj police station area, the police arrested three liquor traders and seized 28 litre country-made liqour from, besides razing down several liquor manufacturing plants, Maharaj said.

Another liquor trader was arrested from Bypass police station area and 75 litre toddy drink, called 'tadi' in local parlance was seized from him.

Maharaj directed the the Station House Officers (SHOs) of police stations in Patna district to carry out a sustained operation against liquor trade and said that strict action will be taken against them in the event of manufacturing and sell of liquor being reported from their respective jurisdiction.
