15 persons awarded 'Atal Sanman Puraskar'

A total of 15 persons, responsible for the growth of the then Janasangh and present BJP in the city were honoured with the Atal Sanman Puraskar at a function here.

The function, held in the city last night, coincided with the 92nd birthday celebration of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee yesterday.

National vice-president of BJP and MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe was present for the function organised by the Thane unit of the party.

City president Sandeep Lele welcomed guests, also present on the occasion was Chairman of the Standing Committee of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) Sanjay Waghule.

Among those honoured include, former corporators Sheela Marathe, Dinoo Damle, Chandrakant Hazare, Sunanda Date. Also honoured were social worker and president of Parshuram Sena, Om Prakash Sharma, senior BJP leader Anna Asinkar and Neeta Pendse, (wife of late Arvind Pendse, who strived for the growth of the Janasangh and BJP in the undivided Thane district).
 

A 45-day 'Mahayagna' is being conducted in the Shiv Temple at Manorama Nagar here which will conclude on December 31. The Yagna is being organised to give fillip to the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The yagna is being organised jointly by Bhagwan Parshuram Sena and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).
