At least 15 militants of the banned terror outfit Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) today voluntarily surrendered in Pakistan's restive province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bordering Afghanistan, security officials said.

"The extremists, fifteen in number, associated with TTP Saeed Group surrendered themselves and their weapons to the political authorities in Sadda tehsil of Kurram agency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa," a security official said.

Pakistan Army has killed over 3,400 militants in the one and half year-long military operation launched to eliminate local and foreign militants from the country's restive tribal regions.

Operation Zarb-e-Azb was launched in June last year after militants had attacked the international airport in Karachi, killing 26 people including airport security staff.
