A 15-year-old daughter of an IFS officer, allegedly hanged herself at her home in New Delhi's Pandara Road today.
The incident took place around 12.15 PM following which a police team from Tilak Marg police station rushed to the spot. The police, however, did not find any suicide note in the house, said a police official.
The girl was a student of class 11 and her mother is an IFS officer. She hanged herself with a long cloth from the ceiling fan in her room. The cause behind her taking the extreme step could not be ascertained yet, said the official.
"An inquest has been initiated as per provisions of the CrPC," said DCP (New Delhi) Jatin Narwal.
A police official added that the police are questioning the girl's relatives and friends for crucial leads and her personal phone is also likely to be sent to the forensic department.
