An investment of Rs 2,700 crore by 151 companies today made its way into Jharkhand in continuation with last year's Momentum Jharkhand Investors Summit.
Foundation (investments) for the development of the entire Santhal Pargana is being laid at Baba Baijnath Dham. Ten thousand people will benefit from employment. For the first time after independence, such a programme is being organised," Chief Minister Raghubar Das said at the event.
He said the Santhal Pargana (comprising six districts), has been backward since independence but now it would not remain so as special schemes were made for the region.
Das said Jharkhand is a prosperous state but for some reasons, it could not be developed as it should have been.
"Despite having mineral resources, the people here are living in deprivation," Das said.
The government has organised the global investment summit to fulfill the desire of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay to give job to every hand and water to every agriculture land, Das said.
