15th century arms found from cave

In a significant discovery, five historical arms of 15th century, believed to be used by Tribal royals. Were today recovered from a cave in Morigaon district.

Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) Executive Member Khagen Bordoloi said the five weapons were recovered by villagers from a cave at Tetelia Hill near Jagiroad-Morigaon PWD road in the district.

The items included two spares of six feet length and three swords of five feet length, he added.

The items are believed to be used by Tetelia's Tiwa tribe's king during the 15th century, Bordoloi said.

Following the recovery, TAC has contacted the Archaeological Survey of India for handing over the items.
