Basic Shiksha Adhikari Pravesh Yadav suspended 16 teachers, sources said.
As per the provisions of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, all the government school students are entitled to receive free books and uniforms up to Class VIII.
On October 2, uniforms were to be distributed in various schools of the district, they said.
However, the uniforms were not distributed at some government schools, sources said adding, financial irregularities were also reported in few institutions.
The BSA asked Block Education Officers to probe the matter and submit their report. On the report of Block Education Officers, the BSA suspended the 16 teachers, which included 10 women teachers.
