A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in her house in Mungeda village, and though beaten up by family members, the accused managed to flee, the police said today.
The incident took place late last night. The accused allegedly entered the girl's room and gagged her to ensure that her family members sleeping in the other room do not wake up, SHO of Itawa police station Sanjay Royal said.
However, the girl's kin woke up and thrashed the accused, but he somehow managed to flee, the police official said.
