Odisha Chief Minister today said that as many as 167 posts of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS) are lying vacant in the state.
Replying to a question of BJP member Dilip Ray, the chief minister told the assembly that of the total 555 sanctioned posts, 167 posts are lying vacant in the state.
While 182 IAS officers are in service here against the sanctioned strength of 226, 106 IPS officers are available for the state against 188 sanctioned posts. Similarly, 100 IFS officers are in position against the sanctioned strength of 141, he informed the assembly.

A total 310 posts in Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) are lying vacant against the sanctioned 1,416 posts in it.
Against the total sanctioned 582 Odisha Police Service (OPS) posts, 94 are vacant, he informed.
As many as 101 posts have fallen vacant out of 709 posts in the Odisha Finance Service and 494 posts out of 979 posts in the Odisha Forest Service, Patnaik added.
