A voter turn out of 17.20 per cent was recorded in the first two hours in the election to the lone Mizoram Lok Sabha seat and bypoll to the Aizawl West -I assembly seat on Thursday.
Brisk voting was reported from many places with enthusiastic voters coming to the polling stations to exercise their franchise.
At the Venghnuai polling station within Aizawl South - II assembly segment, voters, including many senior citizens, were seen queuing outside the booth.
An electorate of 7,87,777 would seal the fate of six candidates for the Lok Sabha seat and three nominees for the assembly by-poll.
