Representatives of 17 peasants and workers organisations demanded that Turmal Nimle, ASP Sadar Police Station Patiala and block development and Panchayat officer Jaswant Kaur be suspended from service.
Addressing a press conference here, the representatives stated that the issue of farmers was in the agenda of the organisations and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had promised that it would be resolved in a positive way.
The people of Sanaur, Samana and Bhunarheri blocks have reclaimed uncultiviable land through hard labour of generations and made them fertile, they said asserting the peoples right to be owner of land was justifiable.
They demanded that all the false cases registered against the people and union leaders should be withdrawn immediately.
The team of representatives visited the Rajindra Hospital to meet the injured peasants and also went to villages Charason and Balbehra to express solidarity with the people.
The representative leaders included BKU (Dakaunda) president Buta Singh Burjgill, Ruldu Singh Mansa of Punjab Kisan Union and vice president of Jamhoori Kisan Sabha Punjab Modan Singh Dulowal.
