Acting on a tip off, the Customs sleuths raided Siliguri-Katihar Express last night and seized the haul of betelnut from a coach reserved for handicapped passengers, the Customs assistant commissioner Jyotiraditya said.
The value of betelnut haul was worth about Rs two lakhs and meant for smuggling to Nepal, he said.
In related development, the Customs, SSB and local police seized consignment of leather worth Rs 1.5 lakh from three bullock carts from Kuari locality near the Indo-Nepal board in Araria district, he said.
