A 17-year-old boy who was battling for his life after being severely injured in a fire incident today died at a hospital here, police said.

The boy, a resident of Baran district, was admitted to the hospital on Friday with severe burn injuries, said Sugan Singh, Station House Officer of Chhabra police station.

The deceased's minor friend has been booked over the complaint of his father who accused him of instigating his son to set himself on fire. The accused and the deceased were school dropouts and worked at a place in Chhabra town.

The deceased's father Chothmal Kumhar alleged the accused poured kerosene over his sleeping son and set him on fire.

The allegation was, however, found wrong, Singh said, adding that the juvenile has been detained and booked under relevant provisions of law for allegedly instigating the deceased to set himself on fire.
