The administration today shifted 174 girls from a government aided home of Nadia district as it lacked security and there was a chance that they could become victims of trafficking.
"We shifted 174 girls from the home of Bhagirathi Shilpashram at Shimurali in Nadia today. They main reason was they could have been trafficked," Kalyani SDO Swapan Kumar Kundu said.
The girls were not getting food, the teachers were not getting salaries and above all there was no security for the girls who were minor, he said.
