18,123 cases disposed off at Lok Adalat in Gautam Budh Nagar

As many as 18,123 cases were disposed off at a National Lok Adalat held today at various courts in the Gautam Buddha Nagar (GBN) district.

District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) secretary Neelu Mainwal said that a these 18,123 cases included 293 pre- litigation cases, 11,725 court matters and 6,105 revenue court matters.

According to Mainwal, 206 Negotiable Instruments Act cases were taken up and out of these 162 cases were disposed off with a settlement amount of Rs 2.01 crore.

A total of 15,322 criminal compoundable cases were taken up and of these 11,210 were disposed off with a settlement amount of Rs 10.28 lakh, the official said.
 

Sixteen MACT cases were taken up and of these 12 disposed off with a settlement amount of Rs 61.21 lakh. Apart from these 156 labour dispute cases were taken up and of these 118 disposed off with settlement amount of Rs 84,050.

As many as 1,100 Electricity Bills (excluding non compoundable) matters were taken up and of these 132 disposed off with a settlement amount of Rs 19.93 lakh. Fifty six matrimonial cases were taken up and of these 47 cases were disposed off as mutual settlement was reached, the official said.

Ninety nine other civil cases such as of rent, injunction suit, specific performance suit etc were taken up and of these 43 were disposed off. In addition, 9,562 revenue cases were taken up and of these 6,105 were disposed off.

A total of 2,054 bank recovery cases were taken up and of these 59 disposed off with settlement amount of Rs 93.10 lakh, according to officials.
