18,388 criminals held during statewide police drive

(ADG-Headquarters) Ravindra Kumar told reporters that 18,388 criminals comprising both on bail and warrantees were banned as part of the police drive carried out over the past three days to improve the law and order situation.

He said the police also rescued five girls from Khagaria district, who were abducted for the purpose of marriage by their captors.

The police busted an illicit minigun factory in Munger district and seized 28,848 litres liqour, 13 country-made pistols, 36 ammunitions and nine mobile phones during the drive, the ADG said.

The police also rescued a boy Chand Babu (5), hailing from Nagpur in Maharashtra, from the clutches of his two abductors Irfan and Naushad, from a hide out in Samastipur district and arrested the abductors, he said.
