Authorities have evacuated eighteen families whose houses were washed away in the landslide yesterday at Sanasar in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The families have been moved to safer tourism huts at Sanasar, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban Farooq Shah Bukhari said today.

Each family has been provided with 30 kgs of rice free of cost, he added.

The DDC has also directed the BRO authorities to clear the roads up to Sanasar so that blankets, tents and other assistance could be provided to the affected families who have been temporarily shifted.
