18 officials suspended for remaining absent from duty in JK

Authorities today ordered suspension of 18 employees for remaining absent during their office duty hours in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.

To ensure regularity and punctuality in the government offices, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Gool, Zameer Ahmed Rishu inspected different government offices at Gool today, official spokesman said.

During the inspection, SDM found 18 employees absent from duties without seeking prior permission from any authority besides also keeping some offices locked.

The SDM immediately placed all absent employees under suspension and recommended names of a few to higher authority for desired action, spokesman said.

Taking serious note of the matter, the SDM has also sought explanations from all the absentees within fortnight and instructed all other employees to remain punctual, he said.
