Sashashtra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel have arrested 18 cattle smugglers and seized 51 cattle from two trucks near Caltex Chowk in Bihar's Kishanganj district late last night.
Deputy Commandant, SSB's 12th battalion, Kumar Sundaram said that the cattle were being taken to Barpeta district in Assam from Dalkhhola in West Bengal to be sold across the Bangladesh borders.
Sundaram said all the 18 smugglers have been handed over to the Kishanganj police station.
Of the 18 smugglers, 16 belonged to Assam's Barpeta while two others hailed from Bihar's Vaishali district, he said.
