Police have arrested an 18-year old youth who had allegedly shot dead a man in southwest Delhi's Kapashera area last month.

Ankit Kumar Singh, a native of Bhagalpur in Bihar, has been arrested for the murder of Dheeraj Yadav reported on March 20, DCP (Southwest) R A Sanjeev said today.

Police tracked down Singh with the help of Yadav's friend Deepak Lamba who was present at the spot when the incident took place. Lamba told police that they were heading home after a party when three persons chasing their scooter allegedly opened fire at them.

During interrogation, it emerged that Yadav was cousin of one Akash, who was involved in the murder of Manish. It was Manish's brother Krishan, presently in jail, who roped in Singh and allegedly hatched a plan to eliminate Manish's cousin Yadav.

Potential hideouts of the assilant were raided and Yadav was nabbed from Faridabad and a country-made pistol was seized from his possession.
