Six daggers belonging to Sikh warriors of the 18th century have been stolen from a government-run museum in the Ram Bagh area here, police said today.
The theft of historic weapons came to light yesterday when the staff found the glass door of the room in which these items were kept, broken, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Panorama museum curator Raman Kumar said.
The antique daggers were on display in the museum and they belonged to the warriors who were in the army of the 18th century Sikh emperor Maharaja Ranjit Singh, he said.

A case of theft was yesterday registered in this regard and investigations are underway, police said.
The museum is being looked after by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Archaeology and Museums and Amritsar Municipal Corporation.
