To impart technical training to rural youths, the Jammu and Kashmir government plans to open 19 Industrial Training Institutes (ITI's) in uncovered blocks of the state, a minister said here today.
The state government has undertaken a comprehensive programme to expand the reach of technical education, Jammu and Kashmir Minister of state for Technical Education, Vikar Rasool said.
Several ITIs have been established and more being set up to impart much needed skills to youth , who in future can set up their own industrial units and contribute in employment generation, the minister said
Rasool, earlier, inaugurated women's hostel at Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk, Jammu constructed by J&K Housing Board at an estimated cost of Rs 1 crore.
