The Haryana government has sanctioned a sum of Rs 12.07 crore relief for the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Pataudi and Gurgaon.
The enhanced relief was in compliance with the recommendations of the Justice T P Garg Commission which was appointed to probe the riots, an official spokesperson said today.
The funds have been placed at the disposal of Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner, he said.
The spokesperson said the relief was sanctioned for the claimants and the relatives of deceased and injured persons and for losses to property during 1984 Sikh riots in the areas of Pataudi and Gurgaon.
