With the NDA government nearing completion of one year in office, DD News has begun telecasting a series of special programmes as part of its intense three-week coverage.
Official sources said the focus of Doordarshan's coverage has been reports from the states related to the impact and implementation of the government's key schemes and flagship programmes.
"We had begun sending teams to get reports related to the implementation and impact of programmes like Jan Dhan Yojana, social security schemes and 'Per Drop, More Crop'... From May 12 to May 30 these feature in the channel's coverage related to the first year of the government," a source said.

The public broadcaster has also lined up several audience based special shows in various cities like Bhubaneswar, Gandhinagar, Indore, Shillong, Thiruvananthapuram. Effort have been made to cover all regions and maximum number of states, they said.
Two special one-hour long documentaries will also be shown on May 25 and 26 while during this month interviews of several Union Ministers will also be aired. Some interviews have already been broadcast, they added.
Meanwhile, sources in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry said elaborate plans are being drawn for the government's communication strategy for its first year. I&B Minister Arun Jaitley has been himself overseeing the communication plan in meetings, they said, adding that one such meeting was held today as well.
