The toll due to swine flu in Telangana since January has risen to 74 with one more death being reported in the state.
"In the current year from January 1 till March 17, 6,512 samples have been tested, out of which 2,083 are found to be positive. The number of deaths because of swine flu and other complications is 74 as on date," as per a bulletin on swine flu issued by the state government here today.
It said 8 out of 97 samples sent for testing yesterday are tested positive for the virus.

"The number of positive cases reported in the last six days (up to March 17) is 46, 37, 45, 56, 23 and 8," it said.
The government has advised citizens to take precautions such as reporting to hospital on appearance of early symptoms of swine flu like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pain.
Sufficient stock of medicines and ample testing kits are available at different hospitals in the state, it said.
