2.5 kg heroin seized near Pak border in Punjab

Around 2.5 kg heroin was recovered from the fields located close to the India-Pakistan border, in a joint operation by the BSF and Punjab Police's Special Task Force (STF).

The heroin was recovered from two places yesterday, the officials said today.

In the first seizure, two kg heroin was recovered from the fields of a farmer belonging to village Maboke, around 2 km away from international fencing.

In the second seizure, nearly 500 gm heroin was recovered near a motor pump installed in the fields of another farmer, a resident of village Rela Haji.

Senior officials from the BSF and police were involved in this joint operation, they said.
