2,55,804 acres of govt land under illegal occupation in J-K

Jammu and Kashmir government today said that as many as 2,55,804 acres of state land is under occupation of encroachers.

Replying to a question of the JKNPP member Yashpal Kundal about the quantum of government land under illegal occupation of the land mafia and other encroachers, the minister of state for Relief and Revenue Aijaz Khan today said in the Assembly that, 2,55,804.5 acres of land is under illegal occupation of various individuals.

Of these, the highest 49,502.25 acres of land under illegal occupation is in the Rajouri district, followed by Doda where 22,193.87 acres of land is under encroachment, he added.
