2.8 pc candidates clear CTET for classes 6-8

Less than three per cent of the candidates aspiring to become teacher for classes VI to VIII cleared the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), results of which were declared today.

The exam conducted by CBSE saw 12,843 out of the 4,59,286 candidates, who sat for the exam, pass, with the percentage standing at 2.8 per cent.

According to a CBSE statement, 24,629 out of 2,06,145 candidates, aspiring to be a teacher for classes I to V, cleared the test. The pass percentage stood at 11.95 per cent.

The exams were held on September 21 at 962 centres across the country and two centres abroad.
 

Examinations at a centre in Srinagar was postponed due to the floods there.
