Two alleged terrorists of Achik Matgrik Elite Force (AMEF) were killed in an encounter during a joint operation conducted by Army and Meghalaya police in the wee hours today.
The operation was conducted in the rugged and jungle terrain of Meghalaya, along Assam-Meghalaya border, neighbouring Goalpara district of lower Assam.
The operation was launched on specific intelligence provided by Army intelligence unit in general area of Petchong Jonksi in the state, Army sources said.
The terrorists were in a likely terror camp when the security forces encountered them.
Two single shot rifles, one 7.65 mm pistol were recovered.
