Two persons have been arrested and 425 cartons of illegal liquor smuggled from Punjab were seized on the Pauri-New Delhi highway near Miranpur in the district, the police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, a truck was intercepted and 425 cartoons of illegal liquor valued over Rs 35 lakh were seized. These were being smuggled from Punjab's Taran Taran district, a police officer said.
The officer said the truck driver and conductor have been arrested in this connection.
